Well the verdict is in. You can read about my recent posting about removing all store bought commercially made shampoos / conditioners and not using them anymore. The information I’ve learned and my updates when I started and how things progressed here.
Now after 3 day’s in a row since stopping the use of baking soda to clean and apple cider vinegar to rinse – I have been using Dr. Bronner’s Pure-Castile Soap to wash my hair. It’s not only a wonderful bath bar it has turned into the very best bar to clean my hair. I also switched back to white vinegar rinse ( better for my hair type ). The results are the softest hair I’ve ever had, the soap gets its really clean with just one shampooing. I blow dry my hair with a table top fan and my hair turns out full of body, naturally falls into place ( no fighting it ). Natural waves show up like never before.
The price for Dr. Bronner’s Bar soap and other products varies all over the internet. Locally I can purchase it cheaper than anywhere on line.
The scents are mild in the soaps……so far I’ve used the Lavendar and Rose. Each scents ingredients are the same except for the scent added.
GIVE IT A TRY……I’m very pleased with the results.
NOTE ** one thing I’ve noticed with switching to pure castile soaps over the many handmade soaps I’ve used…….it’s superior. It really softens your skin. And add to that using Organic Pure Coconut oil 100% as a skin lotion…..the results are amazing. I’m never going back to store bought commercial soaps again for bathing, or their shampoos / conditioners…….there’s no comparison. Plus your not applying petroleum products or chemicals to your scalp or skin.

Where do you buy this locally?
Dr. Bronner’s soap I mean.
Oohhh, I love Dr. Bronner’s soap and I’ve been long considering converting over to it for shampooing. I’ve been using Aubrey’s Organics shampoos, but I don’t use a lot of it. I have dreadlocks and I shampoo very infrequently as it is. But my husband has also stopped shampooing everyday and uses the Aubrey’s I think the Dr. Bronner’s must be cheaper and it’s very good for so many other uses as well. Thanks Pamela!
I am a 40 year old Indian. I can see my hair getting thinner from the ‘parting’. I have tried using Indian herbs like amla and shikakai for washing and conditioning my hair but all i got was sticky hair which would stick together like a lump.
Since you have used this organic soap bar and are satisfied with the results, I would want to try it too. Please let me know if they ship their products overseas.
